Workshop: Exploring Game Music Arrangement/Transcription as Research Method
In this experimental two-hour workshop, which is aimed at BA/MA students in musicology and media studies, we will approach transcribing and arranging game music as a reflective practice within a Creative Humanities framework.
Aside from teaching basic skills to engage practically with the subject matter we will be reflecting on the epistemic implications of our own practice. Being able to read sheet music is the only formal requirement; basic knowledge of music and/or instrumental/singing practice are helpful. If possible, we plan to perform pieces we transcribe at a later date.
If you’d like to participate, please send an informal email to m.kamp1@uu.nl and/or s.werning@uu.nl.
